Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 26, 2026

Lokket holds something irreplaceable — the memories you're saving for your child to open one day. Protecting them is the whole point. Here's exactly what we collect, what we never do, and the choices you have.

1. Who Lokket is for

Lokket is made for parents and guardians — adults 18 and older — to privately save photos, videos, voice notes, and written memories for a child to open when they come of age. The child does not use the app while the capsule is being filled. We do not knowingly let children create their own accounts, and Lokket is not directed to children under 13. The information about your child in a capsule is provided by you, the adult account holder.

2. What we collect

3. What we never do

4. How we use what we collect

5. Photos, video & location

Your photos, videos, and voice recordings are stored in a private storage area that isn't publicly accessible — only you (and a co-parent you invite) can see your capsule's contents, until the reveal.

Lokket only asks for your device location to look up place names when you're searching to tag a memory. Your device's live location is not tracked, logged, or stored in the background. And as noted above, we strip the hidden GPS metadata embedded in photos you add.

6. Reminders

Memory reminders are off by default. If you turn them on, we store a push token for your device and send an occasional, gentle nudge to add a memory. You can switch them off anytime in Settings, which stops the reminders.

7. Subscriptions & payments

Lokket Plus and the one-time Forever option are sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment — we never see or store your card details. To manage your subscription and unlock the right features, we use RevenueCat, which receives your purchase status linked to your account identifier. That's how your plan follows you if you reinstall the app or sign in on another device.

8. Service providers

We rely on a small set of trusted companies to operate Lokket. They only process what's needed for their specific job, and never for their own purposes:

ProviderWhat they handle
SupabaseSecure database and storage that holds your account and your memories.
AppleApp Store distribution, payment processing, and push-notification delivery.
ExpoDelivers the push notifications you opt into.
RevenueCatManages your subscription and unlocks the features you've paid for.
ResendDelivers account emails (verification, password reset, co-parent invites).
SentryReceives crash diagnostics so we can fix problems.

9. How long we keep it

Your memories are meant to last until the reveal — that's the promise. We keep your capsule and its contents for as long as your account is open, up to and through your child's 18th birthday, when the capsule unlocks.

10. Exporting & deleting your data

Export anytime. From Settings you can export your capsule — a download that includes your memory data and the actual photo, video, and audio files.

Delete your account anytime. What happens depends on your role, and the app tells you clearly before you confirm:

11. If Lokket ever winds down

A capsule is an 18-year promise, and we take that seriously. If Lokket were ever to shut down, we would give you advance notice and a way to export everything you've saved before any data is removed, so your child's memories are never lost without warning.

12. Security

Data is encrypted in transit, your media lives in a private storage area that isn't publicly accessible, and you can add an extra layer by enabling Face ID / biometric lock in the app. No system is perfectly secure, but protecting your capsule is something we design for at every step.

13. Children's privacy

Lokket is intended for adults. The account holder is a parent or guardian aged 18 or older, and any information about a child in a capsule is provided by that adult. The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If we learn that a child under 13 has created an account on their own, we will delete it. If you believe a child has provided us information directly, contact us at support@lokket.app and we'll remove it.

14. Your rights

You can access, export, correct, or delete your information at any time — most of it directly in the app, and the rest by emailing us. Depending on where you live (for example, under GDPR in Europe or the CCPA in California), you may have additional rights, including the right to request a copy of your data or its deletion. Because we don't sell personal information, there's nothing to opt out of on that front. To exercise any right, reach us at support@lokket.app.

15. Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we'll post the new version here and change the "last updated" date above. If a change is significant, we'll make a reasonable effort to let you know in the app or by email.
